The Central Government has encouraged Telangana to gradually reduce paddy cultivation and promote crops such as:
- Pulses
- Oilseeds
- Groundnut
- Sunflower
The initiative is intended to improve water conservation, reduce surplus rice production, and increase farmers’ income through diversified cropping systems.
