Bathukamma, the vibrant floral festival of Telangana, is celebrated with great enthusiasm at Saroornagar Stadium in Hyderabad, making it one of the state’s most prominent cultural venues. Every year during the nine-day Bathukamma festival, thousands of women dressed in colorful traditional sarees gather at the stadium carrying beautifully arranged Bathukammas made from seasonal flowers such as gunuka, thangedu, chamanti, banthi, and katla. They sing traditional folk songs, dance in circles around the floral arrangements, and offer prayers to Goddess Gauri, seeking happiness, prosperity, and the well-being of their families. The celebration reflects Telangana’s rich cultural heritage and the strong bond between nature and its people.

Saroornagar Stadium has become a major venue for the Telangana government’s official Bathukamma celebrations. The event attracts thousands of participants from across Hyderabad and features cultural performances, folk music, traditional dances, decorative lighting, and vibrant floral displays.
